Effaclar

Effaclar is our skincare range for oily, blemish-prone skin. La Roche-Posay have developed this range of specialist products designed to unclog pores to help prevent breakouts and blemishes.

Our Effaclar range has the main active ingredients Salicylic Acid, LHA and Niacinamide. Therefore, some of our more active formulas should be introduced gradually or spaced out into a morning/evening routine. For example, you can apply Effaclar Serum at night to clean skin, and the next morning you can apply Effaclar Duo+M followed by a broad spectrum sunscreen such as Anthelios UVMUNE Oil Control.

Using Effaclar alongside other ingredients:

Retinol: We recommend using these products separately, therefore you could use Effaclar Duo+M in the morning and Retinol B3 at night.

Benzoyl Peroxide: Effaclar Duo+M provides 24hr hydration and is also suitable for use alongside benzoyl peroxide, please ask your dermatologist, GP or pharmacist for further advice.

Niacinamide: Yes, you can apply Mela B3 with 10% Niacinamide followed by Effaclar Duo+M.

Vitamin C: Yes, you can apply Pure Vitamin C12 followed by Effaclar Duo+M. In case of tightness, space out application. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen as part of your morning routine.

Some people experience additional blemishes when they first start using Effaclar products, as the formulas help to increase skin surface cell turnover and remove blockages from pores that may lead to breakouts. You should see an improvement within 4 weeks of consistent use. New users may wish to space out applications to give their skin time to adjust.
